Continued from second fage, indicator of its intellectual growth. It is not flattering to our pride, to make the least of it, to conclude that since we are without a maga zine we have neither ability nor lit erary taste. Give the college monthly and the college literature its place. t As for the more practical part of it', the magazine should be the joint production of the two societies, ed ited by a staff chosen with reference to their especial gifts. And that it should not be for the benefit of the few, literary merit should be en couraged by prizes and the publica tion of all voluntary contributions worthy of its columns. Above all it should be removed, if indeed it be possible so to do, from the factional intrigue of college politics. And when the University shall have once again established its magazine upon a successful basis, it will have made an effort in the direction of progress and broader development, certain always to meet with encouragment and lead to good. College spirit and college pride should stimulate our efforts to this end.' A Wonerful Invention Zoology teaches that the hairs of the head are hollow, and contain an oil that gives them life. In clipping the hair with scis sors, this hollow is left open, and the hair loses its life-giving- properties. I have a Machine named the Sinireinsr Ma chine, which removes the hair and at the same time closes up the hollow, causing the hair to retain its life-giving properties, and therefore stopping the hair from falling out or dying, and giving it a soft growth. Call and examine this machine and have your hair singed. Special attention given to dressing La dies' hair. Cutting done with exquisite and srtistis skill by the old University Barber of twenty years' experience. The singing machine is highly recom mended by scientists throughout the country.
