The primary department of the Chapel Hill Graded School gave an entertainment in Gerrard Hall on Thursday evening, for the purpose of obtaining some funds with which to fit up the room of the elementary grade. The program consisted of souers, piano solos, recitations, banjo solos, and various miscellaneous numbers Messrs. Mechling, Lake, Elliott, and Dey assisted in the musical se lections, and Miss Rachel Sims con ducted the recitations and exercises by the smaller children. The primary department of the school is superintended bv Miss Loula Herndon. of Chapel Hill, who has been for some years a successful teacher of the younger children iti the village. All present enioved the perfor mances very much and hope thev may be again able to see what has been dubbed the "Canadian Dramat ic Club," after the headmaster, Mr. J. W. Canada, '96.
