Work on the Track. The weather during" the past week has not been the kind that, is favorable to track work,' in spite of this however, the team has o-otten in a few davs of solid oractice. It can. be stated on good author-' ity that the number of men in train ing" and the number of on-lookei;s are decidedly larger than in previous years, if this continues to hold true a field day this spring- will be a suc cess and one unprecedented in the history of track athletics in the university. About fourteen men are attend ing- daily and training1 faithfully, : number of others attend in a sort o hit or miss fashion, this shouK not be. A man who expects to do anything- or to improve in form or endurance must simply must prac tice often, and apropos of this, we wish to say that the proper way to train on the track is not to try to do your utmost every day, but to practice form in those events where form plays so large a part and en durance in the loner races sucu as the half-mile and mile run. Next Saturday afternoon, provid ed that we can obtain some stop watches, a sort of preliminary con test will take place and these will occur from time to time during- the season. The events will be the 100 yard dash, 120 yards high hurdle, hig-h jump, pole vault, . hot put and mile run. We are pleased to note the organ ization of a team among- the "Meds;' ' this is a good move and should be followed up by similar action among the college classes. Mr. J. P.
