During the summer the Hall of the Dialectic society, in the New West building, was renovated and refinished. The walls and ceiling have been finished in a light green which is trimmed with tasteful fresco work in gold. The change makes a great improvement in the appeareuce of the hall; especially in ihe ceiling which had been disfig" uml for some time by stains result ing from water which escaped from the radiators in the Latin room overhead. The custodian of the buildings should see that this heat ing apparatus does not get out of order again during the coming win ter, as such an event would cause the Dialectic Society much loss fi nancially. For the past month work has been progressing slowly on the re varnishing of the wood wrork of tb;e hall. This has been accomplished at last and the pictures have been renting upon a gilt molding which is intended to save the new walls, as far as possible, from mu tilation. Altogether the new finish makes the hali present quite a hand some appearance. Why Not? It is a little bit early to be agi tating the question of a Senior Class Gift, of course, but then the oppor tunity is so fitting that it must not be lost. Since college opened a dip per has not remained at the well on the campus for over fifteen minutes at most. Somebody must have got the craze for collecting dippers along with souvenir postal cards, or maybe we are harboring a klepto maniac in our midst. At any rate the dippers have disappeared. Now why should not the Senior class do itself proud by. ordering a whole case of dippers, fittingly stamped with the '07 monogram, and presenting them to the University to be used exclu sively at the well on the campus? By this means it would not only per petuate its memory .but it would also lead to the identification of the dipper fiend. Or perhaps it would be better to invest in a section of log chain and a wrought iron ladle. Why not? The decision is left to the wise leaders of the Seniors. No Scoring Again. (Continued from First Page.) tice it did not belong to the sphere of football. Throghout, the game was a clean one, there being no wrangling or unfair playing. On the sidelines the conditions were the same, the squad of police detailed to preserve order not being needed at all. Clippings. All open display of society in signia has been' abandoned at Yale.
