As two of the sub stitutes, Orr and Davis, accompan ied the Glee Club on its trip Mon day, the team will not be in its strongest trim while away. Nev ertheless it should be able to, put up some good ball. The Oak Ridge Game. The Oak Ridge game was not as much to the liking- of the spectators as it would have been had Carolina made the score more than i to 0, but, on the whole, it was a fair bit of ball. A muddy diamond and a chilly nip in the atmosphere kept the weather conditions from being all that could be desired and con tributed somewhat to the slowness of the contest. In this number of the progarm Carolina's fielding was considerably better than her stick-work. Not a man on the Varsity indulged in an error, and from Story's pitching you would have judged that he had been in the box all his life. He had plenty of steam and nice control. Twice he aroused a batter's expec tation by handing out three balls, only to follow with three right through the middle of the plate. A.t the bat and on the bases the team lacked a great deal of averag ing up to its work in the field. There was no scoring until the eighth, when a base on balls fol lowed by a two-bagger by Story won the game. Once, in the sixth, the prospects seemed good for Oak Ridge to score, but they failed to materialize. Score by innings: II. II. E.
