Last year hannuets and "smokers" were held at Greensboro, Wilmington, Char lotte, Raleigh,' Maxton, Washing ton, Birmingham, and New York. Messages were received, too, and read at the celebration here from individual alumni in every corner of the country. All of this has been, during the past year, a source of great strength to the institution in its effort to make itself an increasing power for good. The alumni in every community should begin immediately their ar- ragements for celebrating together University Day -this year.
