Clay Lilly of Winston Salem will be here March 8th,. 9th, and 10th to conduct a missionary institute. Ur, Lilly is a younsf man not quite forty, yet his power as a speaker is such that some one has volunteered to pay his salary and expenses for three years that he may travel over the South and and present the Laymen's Mission ary Movement. Monday evening's calm was brok en by the wild capers of a horse loose on the campus. Whether the horse imagined that he was a Dan Patch, cheered on by the expectant throng, whether he thought that he was dragging a Hector about the walls of Troy, or whether he thought a tin can was dangling from his tail, he didn't stop to explain, but merely flew on in h:s mad career not to be balked even bv the menacing and dusky form of Henry. Up and down the campus, now contemptuously ploughing up the paths hallowed by the tread of the great, now wildly circling the athletic field at a clip that would put the .Yannigans to shame, he sped on until having cov eredall the points of this mundane sphere he mounted up like Pegasus of old and made his winged way to the skies.
