To my mind, Varsity Track Team means lots more than class baseball P The Excursion. An excursion train will be run to Greensboro next Monday for the Virginia game. The train is run for the benefit of the Chapel Hill Fire Company, and the fare for the round trip is $1.50. The time of leaving is 8:10 a. m. It is desired that as many stu dents as possible attend and cheer the Carolina men on to victory. The game will unquestionably be worth seeing, and our players will feel more confident if they can hear from the side lines some rousing yells. Carolina 3, Randolph Macon 1. The game Friday was devoid of any special features, When Caro lina defeated Randolph-Macon by the score of 3 to 1. The Varsity played a good field ing game, but the stick work was decidedly poor. Fullenwider was on the firing line, and held the Vir ginians to two hits. Hobbs and Montgomery worked like a well- oiled machine. Hamilton played a steady game at the initial sack For the visitors, Pritchard, short stop, and Lancaster, third, played the best game. Drewry pitched a good game, but his support was not the best. Randolph-Macon made their only score in the ninth inning after two men were out. Carolina scored in the second and eighth. M. game was a beauty. .Hackney says little but he saws wood and is showing1 up well. Did you ever see a bunch get around faster than our infielders? Frank continues to keep his breeches rolled up and continues to get his base. Reddy's twirling is steadily im- proving. ine iatayette men couldn't find him at all. That error of Monty's in the R. M. game did no one any real harm and made the visitors feel good. Fully did the cat and mouse stunt with that R. M. right fielder. The youngster was afraid to take his foot off first base. Hobbs' ability to throw to second is a nine days' wonder. The Lafayette men seemed dazed. Seven tried and seven failed.
