We have something to say to you this issue, and "lest we forget" we will tell you that we meant to. If we don't get it said, excuse us. We intended to say something in the last issue, but were kept from it by an accident which happened to the galley of type which contained it. It wasn't worth repeating, so we'll let that go. When the next time comes, if there is a next time, w 'ell see that it reaches you-unless there is a cyclone. Whispering of cyclones, we don't like them, nor battle, murder, nor sudden death. So we'll be good if we don't get too lonesome while behaving. But, fellow-sufferers, the pestilence is still with us. we are trying to accustom ourselves to it, and can almost say that success grins on us. This is what we had to say, granting that we have said it! We think we have, but then we read between the lines. Can vou? We hope so, bacause these lines contain a story of primitive passions, or we might say, childish passions which not only wrecked the galley which contained our news for you, but also the fair fame of yours truly. It has always been said that we were apt to get rough when stirred up. That is where our fair fame got one in the solar-plexus. The mud kicked-upby the last one who forded our "crick" of life has set tled. All is quiet, if not peaceful. The calm quiet and piece of mind that comes from poor understanding be with us all, now and then some. We have said. The time has passed since our promissory notes for the trainer's salarv were due. Some of us have been tapped. Others have not, but the the committee . will see that those who have not contributed will get a chance. It is now left to you. If the note is due, redeem it. If you have not promised anything, give it any way. We want the trainer and we want him at once. We have the best chance for a good track season that we have ever had. We will have two good me ets here and the inter-state meet at Greensboro. Oh! we guess there'll be something do ing on the track this spring. When candidates are called for again, trot out. You are wanted! There is a place for every man who can make good. ' ' The baseball schedule for the spring is a good one. At the same time it is a hard one. The games follow each other closely, and the teams ate all strong ones after the first few games. We have all we can do. The team is going to do its share, for we are going to have a strong one this year. We must do our little best, too, from the start. If the thought of eighteen games here will not help us to doit, some thing is wrong. A good way to start is to buy season tickets. The management can use the money, the sooner it gets it the better. Thirty cents' a game is cheap enough, and cheaper than they will be without a season ticket. They are on sale now. The Chemical Journal Club held the fitst regular meeting of the year at 7;30 o'clock Monday night. The meeting was characterized bv a number of extremely interesting pa pers.
