Single Copies. 5 Cents. Tomorrow is the time, you men of Carolina's team! You have the goods. Deliver them! We are not good at prophecies but we know that you are going to play ball. If Virginia doesn't get a licking she'll come so near it that she won't feelgood until the last Carolina man is retired. There's no need to say that we hope that you will win the game, and we can truthfully say that we believe that the game is ours until we hear to the contra ry. Well, let's lick them, if we can, and if we don't we think we'll do it next time. Virginia ought to make a good looser for we acknow ledge that she is a good winner. All together men let's give Vir ginia her medicine this time. So it seems that we are to have postal savings banks wrether we like or not. We wanted them against Tulane, and we got them. We didn't want them against Vir ginia and Georgia, but we got them all the same. It seems try as we may the question of postal savings banks will be decided affirm atively. Yet .the other side has been ably represented by Carolina twice, so if Virginia and Georgia will have these banks we think that we can at least say, "we told you so," if they bring not prosperi ty with them. Really we hate to refer lo it, but we think that there are a few subscriptions unpaid. This state ment made, the point follows. This may be stated in the manner of this, We don't like to ask yon, but we need the money. ITurtber more. and lastly, we need it now! We would like to say of you "when we were a-hungered ye fed us,, when we were barefoot, ave hatless and coatless ye clothed us," Any way we invite your prayerful con sideration to the foregoing. It is with pleasure that we have seen the results of our resuming our baseball games with Davidson. This pleasure may be greater because Caro lina has won both games, but we j think we would say the same thing if we had lost them. Davidson brought a clean, gentlemanly team down toxj play us yesterday afternoon, and we j hope its visit was as great a pleasure to its members as., it was to us who j saw the game. The game, in spite of a little ragged fielding on both sides, was a good one. There was no kick ing, no friction, everything went smoothly, and Carolina worked for what she got. We hope to see you play here next season Davidson! If you win then, why the game is yours, and we will still be glad to have had you on our diamond. Tennis News The racquet tournament was fin ished yesterday when New tou won from D. B, Teague. The prize winners were, Newton, Teague D. R, Lasley, J. W., and Battle K. D. Had not the tournament been so often delayed it would have been intensely interesting. Many men seemed to show good possibilities only to go down before the winners. The class series is also beginning to warm up. To date the results have been as follows. The Sophs won from the Seniors. This game may be contested on account of the ineligibility of one of the Soph team. The Juniors and Seniors both won from the Freshmen. All the teams have shown up well so far.
