Tapp, of Wilmington, was the guest of Rev. and Mrs. Hogue during Easter. Professor and Mrs. E. K. Gra ham have had as their guests dur ing the last few days Mr. Graham's sister Miss Mary Graham of the Faculty of the State Normal and their friend Miss Elizabeth Colton of Meredith College. Miss Lola Lasley, of Burlington, sister of John Lasley, has returned home after spending several days with Dr. and Mrs. Abernathy. Two hours of fun. John McKay and Harry Roberts spent Easter at Buie's Creek. Several students went with the high school pupils on a delightful picnic Easter Monday. Mrs. Betty V. Wright is on a visit here to her daughter Mrs. L. R. Wjlson. Mrs. Wright foi many years conducted an estimable pri vate school at her home Coharie, N. C. She has sent many a worthy student to the University, whose training received under her gave him such an impetus as to make him climb abovo his fellows. Mrs. Wright is the mother of Pres ident Wright, of the East Carolina Training School. Mr. Goldstein, an Instructor in English at Trinity College, and Mr. J. Landow, a student of that institution, spent Monday on the Hill as the guests of S. Cooper smith. Mr, Marcus Proctor, Editor of "The Trinity Chronicle", the weekly newspaper at Trinity Col lege, was the guest of Messrs. Barker and Webb on East Frank lin Street on Monday. E. R. Buchan left Saturday for his home at Manly, and from there he will go to Mullin's, S. C, to take charge of the business of his brother, who is sufferiug from an attack of appendicitis. Arrangements have been made with Washington and Lee and with Georgia lor holding both the inter collegiate debates on April 7. At Georgia Messrs. Turpin and Lan- ham have been chosen as represent atives against Carolina, Mr. Falk acting as alternate. The students at the University of Georgia consid er their team an excellent one. At least one hundred and fifty men were away from the Hill on Easter day. The largest number of these were at Winston-Salem, with the Glee Club and Orchestra. The University Glee Club and Orchestra will give a performance in Gerrard Hall Thursday night.
