Leaves of Life The publicatiun of a book of poems by a young North' Carolinian is an event that cannot fail to be of interest to many University men. Especially is this true when the author is himself a University man and so recent a stu dent as Mr. Samuel H. Lyle, Jr., of the class of '08. Mr. Lyle's book, "Leaves of Life", is a collection of short poems, very few of which exceed a page in length. Even before he left college, this writer's verses had attract ed considerable attention and praise. Those who have read the University Magaziue will find many of the poems in this collection familiar. Mr. Lyle has a Reeling for the poetic and a gift of expression which is rare. This vol ume is published by the McGregor Co., Athens, Ga., in a single and at tractive binding.
