Lee Fentress returned from home Monday. Rev. R. W. Hogue has been appoint ed as delegate to the National Lay mens Missionary Congress, which meets in Chicago in May. Rev. W. R. Roy all left this week for a trip to the western part of the State, to include the two baseball games with Virginia, and the debate with Wash ington and Lee Thursday night. He will preach Sunday at the Tryon Street Methodist Churce in Charlotte. Berry man, Cartoonist On Monday night a most apprcia tive audience greeted the great po litical cartoonist, Mr. Berryman, who spoke and drew cartoons in Gerrard Hall. Mr. Berryman is the cartoonist of the "Washington Star" and his work is reproduced in the leading newspapers over the country. He was introduced to the Chapel Hill aud ience by a former beloved pastor of the Presbyterian Church here. Rev. William T. D. Moss, thru whose in fluence Mr. Berryman's visit was made possible. The time was short and there were no long speeches. Mr. Hogue announced that the alumni of Greensboro would furnish a band for the first game and probably the manager of the excursion from Greens boro to Charlotte would pay the ex penses of the band to Charlotte for the second game. Mr. C. O. ' Robin son stated that round trip tickets to Greensboro at $1.50 would be on sale at Neville's store Thursday night. The tickets to Charlotte and return, to Greensboro, will be sold for the sum of $2.65. Mr. F. P. Graham told of the great preparations Char lotte people are making for their game. The expenses of the team will be paid by Charlotte. The alumni of Mecklen burg, according to a telephone mes sage Ironi Mr. T. W. Wade, are anx ious chat the student bodies of both Virginia and Carolina should attend and make the second game as great an event as the first. Dr. Patterson said that the time was quickly passing for talking and com ing for us to lick Virginia, He asked the team not to be over-confident, but to play a fighting game from the start to the finish, remembering that Virginia was never licked until three men were out in the ninth. Hedge peth lived up to his reputation as an ever ready mass meeting speaker. A song and yell practice was announced for each night at 7:15 until the games.
