Miss Mabel Borden of Goldsboro is visiting Miss Cobb at Mrs. Archer's. Mr. George Nelson Coffey, the soil expert, is at the University Inn. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schenk of Greensboro spent Sunday on the Hill as the guests of Prof, aud Mrs. A. H. Patterson. Mrs. Josephus Daniels of Raleigh attended the Alexander Memorial Ex ercises on Sunday. J G. Walker returned Monday night from his home at Graham. Dr. R. C. Beaman, presiding elder of Durham district, preached in the Meth odist church Sunday night. In the Phi. Hall Saturday night the question debated was that of the pro posed two dollar athletic fee. The neg ative won, J, A. McGoogan making the best speech. D. B. Teague of the affirmative received honorable men tion. The Dramatic Club rendered its new performance, "London Assurance", before an experienced critic on Friday night, and came up to expectations in every way. On next Friday night they will give their performance in Gerrard Hall. There are thirteen characters in this comedy of five acts. The performance well last for about two hours. Fun of the most ludicrous sort characterizes the entire play. Tickets are on sale at Eubanks Drug Store. : Prof. C. L. Raper represented the faculty and the University at the fun eral of the late Col. Paul Means at Concord last week. Prof, Raper made an address on this occasion on the great usefulness to and love for the U niversity that tol. Means as a trustee of this institution had shown. There arrived at the home of Dr. and Mrs. X. R. Wilson, on the morning of April eleventh, a splendid little baby girl. .
