Graham has gone to Raleigh to visit her daughter. Miss Beatrice Barton, of St Mary's, Raleigh, spent Sunday with her aunt Mrs. J. II. Pratt. In the Intercollegiate State Track Meet to be held in Raleigh on the 7th. each college will have two men in each event except the high and low hurdles. ONE FRIEND LESS With deep grief we announce the death of him who was here from 1893 until 1897 as embassador of the United States of America, Eben Alexander. Who does not remember that sincere friend of Greece who loved our coun try only second to his own Fatherland, who so often afterward in published writings spoke in behalf of the rights of the Greeks? Mr. Alexander was not only a friend of Greece but a Hellenist. Among the very best, having been appointed after his withdrawal from Athens Professor of Greek in the University of North Carolina, and afterward pro claimed its Rector.
