Mr. Palmer says he told the good people of Mebane a whole lot of things about volcanoes they had never heard before. , He also reports a great time admiiing girls, spare ribs, chicken, etc. Mr. Holladay will not be here Satur day to take pictures, but will be on the Hill, Wednesday, the 14th, for the last day's work. It will, therefore, be necessary for all seniors and all groups who wish to have pictures taken for the Yackety Yack if they have not already done so it will be necessary for them to, have the pictures taken on next Wednesday. It is a peculiar coincidence that both V. M. 1. and W. and L., situated in Lexington, Va., have closed until after Christmas. V. M. I. because of pink eye, W. and L. because of typhoid fever. In his remarks Mr. Mott said that since his last visit at the Univer sity he had been in five continents and many islands, visiting 3,000 col leges and institutions of learning, and that nowhere had he been so struck by the character of the students as in Russia. Pres. Alderman introduced Mr. Mott as the "ambassador to us from the land of honor, character and high ideals."
