AMUSEMENTS Since the announcement that the fa mous Rbney Boys" are to give a con cert in this town on Febuary . 25th, there has been unusual, interest shown in the personnel of. the lads who h;ve astonished critical audiences iu the largest cities with their artistic render ing' of classical music. The boys sel dom have more than a rudimentary knowledge of music; when they are placed under Mr. Roney's instruction. They are chosen fortheir natural gifts of voice, ear, temperament and sympa thetic susceptibility to emotions in spired by the words and music. Unremitting- and exacting-rehearsals do the rest. They are taught to understand the dramatic meaning of their songs, and gain intelligent .conception of them by explanation and '.illustration. Rehearsals for the next season's pro gram begin upon the company's return iu the spring from their long winter tour, and not unfrequently eig-ht or ten weeks of daily rehearsals, four to six hours a day, are given to work on the program, wth vocal culture, breathing, phrasing,, enunciation, phy sical exercises, etc. Boys require about" five times as much training to accomplish the same results as do adult singers. J "Roney Boys" at General Hall Sat urday, Febuary 25th. Stat Course. , The patrons of the Pickwick this week have been well pleased with the program offered.
