JUNIOR WEEK FESnVITIES
(Continued from first page)
The -lolhties are to be ushered in
by a baseball game, as is very fitting,
for a Junior Week without a baseball
game would be something unthoughi
of. The Pan-Hellenic dance, given
by the fraternities of the University
is always one of the most brilliant
social events of the college year. A
novel addition to the athletic side of Jan ironclad rule prohibiting the wear-
the activities will , be the inter-State I ing of hobble skirts by any girl con-
tennis meet, at which various colleges Incited with the school.
The University of Illinois has re
quested only $5,426,750 of the Legis-
! lature to run the University for the
next two years.
Freshmen at the University of Wis
consin are not allowed to walk on the
campus. They are compelled to run
from building to building with their
hats in their hands.
Northwestern University has passed
In a debate before Yale Union on
the question: "Resolved, that Yale
is still 50 years behind Harvard," the
affirmative won the decision.

of the State will contest for a Cup to
be awarded to the champions. The
contest will take up two whole morn
ings, and it will be a sight worth
seeing, to- behold intercollegriate ten
nis games in progress upon eight
courts simultaneously. The Cotil
lion Club dance is also a novel experi
men t, marking- as it does a new era
in the social life of the University by
giving; the non-lraternity men a
chance to participate. A more demo
cratic spirit is expected to mark the
coming Junior Week than has ever
been in evidence inprevious years. The

The night of the Senior Stunt
one night ot all nights in the year
that collegefun runs rampant .Thecus
tomary restraint is on this occasion
waived, and the eccentricities of the
faculty are shown up as mercilessly as
the foibles of the students. While
the exact nature of this year's stunt is
kept a strict secret, it is understood
mar ail inuaDitants ot the campus
should prepare for the worst, for a
riot of carricature is about to be let
loose that will rival the famous din
ners of the Gridiron Club of Wash
inp-ton. Running neck and neck with
the Senior Stunt in drawing power is
the baseball . game between the
Seniors and the Faculty. Of course,
the whole college and then some more
will be on hand to see this. It is fit
ting that the gailies should be brought
to a close by the grand marches oV
the Junior Prom, the real affair of
the week.
An interesting feature of the Junior
jollities is that they will take this
occasion to celebrate Washington's
birthday that is by special request of
the students the holiday which the
students would have enjoyed February
22 was transposed to Junior week,
The leaders for the dances are as
follows: of the Pan-Hellenic, D. C.
McRae assisted by John Tillet and B.
H: Mebane; of the Cotillion Club, T.
P. Nash assisted by T. M. Price and
Norman Vann; of the Junior Prom,
