Well, gentlemen, did you ever see
such mulish tactics? We never did,
except at a bush league contest.
Roach Stewart arbitered an excell
ent eatne. The Penusylvanians a
mitted that after they had copped the
game. Why , the attempted bull dos
ing then? We have an idea the visit
or's fat coach was largely responsible,
He looked like he might be a product
of the tall and uncut.
The boys were slightly off color
They didn't show as much fight as
usual.
r.aK" T.itirlRav is ffettmff his
peepers on the Spalding. He got
double and a single yesterday. ,
Faison Witheringtbn rapped out
clean one and swiped two bases. We
wonder if he sent a night letter to
anvone last niffht.
Ferd Puis pitched a creditable game
considering he was facing nine right
handed batsmen.
' Long- had a little of everything-
a fast ball, a slow one, a curve and
an underhanded and overhanded spit
ball.
That was a magnificent attempt of
Jim Hackney's to bag Williams' short
hit in the third. He would have got
ten it if he hadn't fallen and sprained
his shoulder. It isn't serious. He'll
be at Greensboro. You can bet on that.
The big noises of the year are just
a , week off. Virginia has a better
team than theirs of the past spring.
Well we have a better balanced nine
ourselves.
We are not boasting, but. take it
from me, if you are ;i .fan and a sport,
you wont be disappointed if you g o
Greensboro or Charlotte.
