Monday p.. m. we, tackled Lafayette
within the confines of their own
stronghold, Easton, Pa., and walloped
them by a 6-2 count. This gave us
the spring series ; with Lafayette as
we got an even break with them on
the Hill.

The C. U. Game.
On Tuesday our bunch invaded the
Capitol City and got their first licking
of the t r i p. Catholic University
turned the trick. The score was 4-1.
The main features of the affair were
Green's hurling and our own nifty
fielding. We got but two hits off the
Catholic moundman. Our gents pulled
off a couple of double plays that were
highly creditable.

The ball team returned Thursday
and old fashioned Carolina spirit
was- let loose in plenty Thursday
night with a rousing,' tumultous mass1
meeting in fGerrard Hall and a' bon
fire.' ' . 'v; '
Dr. Battle was the first called on
for a speech, and he responded by de-1
daring that although he had Vir-I
ginia blood jn his' veins, he was for
Carolina all the time Dr. Minis fol4
lowed, expressinerlhis faith in the uni
conquerable spirit of our University.
i'rot; woblethen held the rostum in
his own inimitable style, making a
plea for the o1d$ fashioned mass meet
ing as well as asserting himself ioval
to the end. Professor Bernard 'ex
pressed his satisfaction at our clean
bunch of athletes. Rev. R. W. Hogue
reluctantly ascended the platform af
ter repeated calls, and made the ;m6st!
impressive talk of the evening, refer
ing to the fact of this being his last
speech at a Carolina mass meeting.

Nat Cartmell led his trackmen over to
Lexington, Monday . and outpointed
Washington and Lee, 62-46.
I It was an entertaining meet, though
we had little trouble in winning. How
ever several of our men were slightly
off color owing to ! Saturday's grind

The Georgetown Game.
Our team wound up its Northern
tour, Wednesday, by taking George
town into camp, 3-0., The affair was
a hurler's fight between Lee and
White.
It was a great game. Our men put
up a magnificent fielding exhibition.

Ceremony Performed at Chapel of the Cross, Rev. Mr.
Hogue Oftlciaiing. '
The little ivy covered Chapel of the
Cross was the scene of a beautiful and
widcv interesting wedding Friday
night when at 8 o'clock with Rev. R.
W, Hogue performing the Episcopal
ceremony, Miss Dora MacRae, daught
er of Mr. R. S. MacRae of Chapel

The bride entered- with her father
who gave her away. She was . at-4
tired in a dress of white satin over
white taffeta silk (en traine) trimmed
in pearls, crystal passementerie and
fringe and carried bride's roses , with
ferns. Her veil of illusion was of
white tulle. The dame of honor was
Mrs. John C. Lamb of Wilson who
wore white batiste and carried lillies
of the vail c y. . The, flower girl
was little Miss Caroline MacRae of
Winston-Salem, the bride's netce. She
carried a basket of roses and lillies of
the valley!, The bride was attended cy
twelve bride's maids, the Misses Louise
Venable, Cantey Venable, May Hume,.

nie Smith, Elizabeth Bain, Alice
Noble, Lucy Harris, Randolph Archer,
and. Nellie Barbee. all, of Chapel Hill,
and, Miss Annie Plummer Nicholson
of Washington, N. C. The brides
maids all wore, -white batiste with
green ribbons.
The groom's attendants were Mr.
Henry E. Williams, best man, and
Messrs.. Don MacRae, brother of the
bride, Kenneth Burgwyn, James ' W;
Morris, all stulent, of the University,
and Mr, Albert Stewart of Fayette
ville. All these gentlemen are mem
bers of the' local chapter of the A". T.
O. fraternity. ' ': "": ' ' ,r
The church was decorated with
Southern smilax, potted plants and
dogwood blossoms, , carrying out the
color scheme of the bride's and brides
maid's costumes, white and green.
Cathedral candles were burning on
the alter. Miss Willie Smith, of Dur
ham played Mendelsonn's' wedding
march as the bridal party entered and
Tannhauser's as they left the church.
The bride and groom have many
friends among the students of the
University as well as throughout the
whole State. The couple received a
large number of beautiful presents.
After the ceremony, a reception was
tendered the bridal party and their
friends at the' A. T. O. Hall. Mrs;
Charles Holmes Herty entertained the
bridal party after the rehearsal Tues
day night. Among the out of town
visitors to the wedding were: Mr.
