THilE TAR HEEL On the Campus. Mr. Camerdn MacRae is on the Hill for a few days visiting- relatives. Miss Marjorie Bethel, of Norfolk, Va.i is visiting Miss Elizabeth Bain. Rev. R. VW Hogue left Thursday afternoon for a short trip to Baltimore. Miss Rand Archer entertained on Wednesday night in honor of a few friends. v . . ; Joseph G. Walker. visited his "home last Thursday returning on Sat urday. Miss Dodd, of the faculty of St. Mary's, spent the week-end ih ere with Mrs. Holmes. ' v Mr. John Lamb of : Wilson, 'N. C, made a short visit to' friends on the Hill last week. '.; ' Floyd Whitney J '11, returned on Monday after a short visit to his home at Bessemer City, N. C. Mr.' Carl Darnels, Ex 08, of New Bern, .N. C, has returned to the Hiill to take up the study of law. Prof. M. H. Stacy went to Mebane Friday to' deliver the commencement address at the graded school. Miss Elizabeth Bain entertained Wednesday morning very informally, in honor of her guest, Miss Bethel. Mrs. R. W. Hogue entertained Wed nesday afternoon in honor of her moth er, Mrs. Margaret Young, of Dallas, Texas. Herbert Leary, who has been a law student here since September, has left the Hill to continue law at Wake Forest. - Mrs. John Lamb and children left Saturday morning for her home in Wilson, after a two week's visit to Mrs. R. S; MacRae. ' Coach Clancey came down from Win ston-Salem on Sunday to be pres ent when the picture of the baseball team was made. '"Bob" Winston will be an instruct or in .the Athletic Director at the summer vacation athletic school to be held at Bryson City. Miss Virginia Barker, who has been visiting Miss Cantey Venableand Mb Mary Manning, returned Wednesday a'fternoon to her home in Kentucky. The Senior Co-eds after a very ex cited mass-meeting Wednesday night are 'now wearing their best hats every day, very much against their feminine .judgement in such matters. Mr. MacDonald, of Raleigh, '89 was here for three or four days last week and remained over Sunday. While here he was the guest of both the Phi Delta fraternity and the Dialectic So ciety. ; r- ; Rev. W. E. Cox, '99, rector of St., John's Church, ' Wilmington, N. C, preached a't the Episcopal church on 'Sunday 'morning and evening. Mr. Cox is a convincing speaker, and his two sermons yesterday were instructive and inspiring. Off for a a vacation! Mr. Dixon of Commons Hall, Mr. Thompson of Central Hotel, Mr. Patterson of Uni versity Inn, Mr. Bright and Seat Bar bee are anticipating a trip to Jackson Springs where they 'will enjoy a much needed rest.
