our pessimistic moments we're inclined
to share your view ot the matter. '
Not a game lost in two years! Well

Well, the fame of "Lanky" Lee has
gone abioad in the land. The Brook
lyn Nationals would consider giving
him a trial if he cares to enter profes
sional ball. This is not hot air either.
Here's an extract from a letter written
by President Ebbets ot the Brooklyn
Club to a friend of his in FayettevilJe:
"We do .not, seem to get our pitchers
i going r i g h t. Would certainly be
pleased to add another one to our: list;
Would it be asking- too much ot you to
ascertain if pitcher Lee of U. N. C. '
would like to play professional ball; it
so, at what salary?
Is he a right or left hander and what
is his age, weight and height?"
Thanking-you, I am,
.. . Sincerely yours.

Brethren the end has come. The last
game of the season has been played.
In the issue of May 20th we'll give
you our last "Sportogram." There
we'llf review and summarize .for you
the work of 'lie best baseball team that
has ever played under, the colors of old
Carolina. , ,
If you want to read a good college
baseball story get hold of a copy of
Zane Grey's "The Young Pitcher.'.?
Its the only yarn, wev'e ever read that
has a genuine flavor of coliege life
and college atliUtics.
.Th hero. as the tiile suggests, is a
twirler, but he is neither a Frank Mer
riwell nor Fran'ks brother Dick. He
gets the timber put to him once aqd
awhile.'" The : other "young fellows are
wholesomely human. A coach, whom
it worth the price of. the book to know
moulds a team from a bunch of fresh
men. If you enjoy flesh and ' tilood
stories get Zane Grey's volume.
