THE TARHEEL Carolina Defeats Randolph-Macon College Randolph-Macon College was powerless to hit Woods Saturday, and Carolina won without exerting- her strength, 3 to 0. The Methodists were able to secure but one single off of his de livery. Carolina's changed line up seemed to have been a right move The team fielded betterand ran the bases., with better judg ment. The Randolph-Macon in field played a good game. No ex ceptionally hard chances were given, but lhe in fielders handled everything that came out cleanly. lyrleston and Ires did the best work, .though the whole te;im was on the job with plenty of -pep. Murslon, though wild at times, pitched a ' good game. Caro lina scored in t h e fourth. Swirk walked. Leak sin gled, Swiuk going to third. Page bunted down the first base line, scoring Swiuk. Two more came in the fifth, when Young walked, Woods', went" out third to first, Ilaues and Edwards walked and Irby singled, scoring Young and Hanes. I he last two were added in the seventh, Hanes was hit by a pitched ball, '. Edwards sin gled. Irby got his second single, which drove in llanes and Ed wards. The discussion hinged on the questions of atten dance, compulsory education, and vocational training. Increased nay of teachers and consolidation os schools were means suggested to 'improve the public schools of the state.
