Grant were se lected in the final preliminary Tues day night to represent Carolina this year in the triangular debate with Johns Hopkins and Washington and Lee. These were selected out of a list of eighteen debaters, which was probably the largest number that has gone out for the triangular debate in several years. Two preliminaries were used for selecting the team. In the first pre liminary the successful speakers on the affirmative were C. L. Nichols, B. C. Brown, W. E. Horner, and D. L. Grant. Those not eliminated from the race on the negative side were J. H. Kerr, T. C. Taylor, P. Hettle man, and T. L. Warren. The other speakers participating in the contest were M. B. Prescott, W. R. Francis, W. E. Matthews, M. M. Jernigan, V. V. Young, C. L. Moore, R. H. Frazier, and H C. Corpening. The judges in the first for the affirmative were Dr. Wm. B. MacNider, Prof. W. J. Math erly, and Mr. F. F. Bradshaw, and on the negative, Profs. P. H. Dagget, E. W. Knight, and L. R. Wilson. The second preliminary was judged by Dr. H. W. Odum, Prof. F. P. Gra ham, and Mr. F. F. Bradshaw, who selected the successful speakers, with P. Hettleman and W. E. Harver as alternates. It is an interesting coincidence that the teams this year are composed with the exception of one man, B. C. Brown, of the same men that were in this debate last year. The question to be debated this year is: "Resolved, That the United States should adopt a policy of fur ther material restriction of immigration." NEMO COLEMAN PUTS RIGHT SPIRIT IN TEAM. Although breaking even in the number of games won and lost, the Asheville Citizen has this to say of the Bingham basketball team, coached this year by Nemo Coleman, former Carolina football star and captain of the team which licked Virginia and A. and E. in 1919, "No cleaner ag gregation represented an educational institution in western Carolina. Coach Coleman is to be commended for first instilling into the team the de sire to play fair, and then the en thusiasm of victory. I S H s I 3 !
