With the baseball season ended
and Coach Bill Fetzer on hand,
spring football practice "began Fri-
aay aiternoon on j&meraon neiq .
Equipment was issued "to about 75
men and the prospects are good for
a snappy ten days of practice. A
number of men from the first year
reserve squad of last fall were out
and looked good in starting.
Only a few fundamentals were set
forth the first day. Coach Bill di
vided the squad into two sections,
one consisting of backfield men and
the other of line men. He himself
took the backfield men and gave
them instruction in proper position,
starting, snatching the ball, and side
stepping. Bill Blount and Jacobi
gave the line men points on posi
tion, starting, offensive and defen
sive line play, and snatching the
ball. Followed a short session of'
forward passing and then Coach Bill
gave the entire squad a short and
meaty talk.
The Fetzer brothers are well
pleased with football prospects for
next year. Almost the entire var
sity squad will return and several
good men will be available from the
freshman squad of the past fall.
Several good football men have en
tered college since then in time to
be eligible for football next year.
