CAROLINA BEATS MARYLAND
THE SCORE BEING 27 TO
(Continued from pago one)
the 15-yard line.
Carolina 's last touchdown came as
result of Tenney's ability to plough
through Maryland's hefty line. Mc
Ghee broke through his opponents' left
tackle and placed the pigskin over the
line. At this point Coach Fetzer began
substituting and by the time the fourth
quarter was under way the whole sec
ond team was facing. the College Park
outfit. :.-:ry': - '...,:,!"v-" ,: ::
The bright spot of the fourth qusr
tcr was Bonner's 23-yard run down the
right side cf the rij'n. In his perioi
Vu'vlind invaded Carolina's territory
for the first time and Pollock drop kick
ed from the 35-yard line for the visi
tors' only score.
Pugh was the only consistent ground
gainer for Maryland, while Semler, tho
fast back that ran wild against Caro
lina in 1920, was completely covered.
The whole Blue and White , backfield
performed in splendid fashion, and Ca
sey Morris showed great ability in re
ceiving forward passes.
