the Freshmen handed the Sophs a 10-0

Tlie game was hard fought nnd the
uoteome was uneertaiu until the fatal
fourth quarter. At this period of the
game the freshmen began an offensive
attack which the sophs wore unable to
check.
The sophs battered the freshman linoi
hard but with no gains, and were fore
ed to resort to forward passes whiel
also proved unsuccessful. The lone
touchdown was made by a forward pass,
a drop-kick added tho extra point, and
the game ended with the ball in mid
field.
WILLIE HORNER HAS ENOUGH
OF THE GREAT METROPOLIS
William E. Horner, better known to
his most intimate friends here as "Red
Shirt," is working on the New York
Evening Post, in tho big city. Willie
was a very important member of the
' literati" colony on the Hill last year.
Besides being editor of tho Carolins
Magazine, he was a Golden Fleece man,
speaker of the Phi Assembly, intercol
legiate debater, president of the Dur
ham County Club, and held many other
honors here. This year he entered Co
lumbia University to continue his study
of journalism. However, he has dis
continued his studies at Columbia anl
has accepted a position on the Evening
Post. He writes friends here that he
does not like life in the metropolis, as
it is too fast for him. Furthermore,
he states that he will bo home by
Christmas.
Horner's debut into the newspaper
world adds another page to the history
of the class of '21 and of the Carolina
alumni. Several members of last year's
class have entered the newspaper game.
