If the Caro lina engineering school must be moved to where it is invisible, then it seems that this must be; But if any students whatever remain in Carolina University, it is essential that these students be treed irom abnormal sur roundings approaching the mon- asterial conditions of the Dark Ages. It is normal and there fore happy for men and women to be together and work to gether throughout their lives, and, if the findings of psycholo gists and psychiatrists count for anything, we know that the ab normal conditions of many men and few women, gathered to gether, or the reciprocal ratio, bring sorrow and ruination. To The Powers If the powers that be over our Greater university nave no faith in the discoveries of psy chologists, then we wonder why teachers of psychology are per mitted to consume the time of our students. If these author! ties over our university do have faith in psychological discov eries concerning the disasters resulting from segregating the sexes or from bringing about an overwhelming ratio of the two, then we wonder how these men can presume to defy the laws of God and nature and risk the consequences of abnormal condi tions forced upon our youth. If Carolina must curtail her efforts to a smaller number of students, this is regrettable ; but, at least, let those students (whether their number is small or great) be given normal sur roundings. May the trustees find some other way of limiting en rollment, but let Carolina be en tirely coeducational. Rachael Crook.
