The loss to the varsity was
offset somewhat by the appear

Little Ghosts, last , night van
quished the Wake Forest Deac
lets 33-16 by turning in a bril
liant second-period performance,
following a first period stale
mate which ended 10-6.
The stellar playing of bucket
man George Glamack was the
main factor in the Blue and
White's victory as he led the
scoring with 20 of Carolina's 33
tallies. Of the visitors, Converey
and Euwing shared the point
honors with four points apiece.
Lead
Off to a slow start with the
opening whistle, the Little
Ghosts trailed 4-3 until the indi
vidual playing of Branson and
Harnden gave them the lead at
7-5.
Carolina's offense failed to
click profitably during the entire
first half, and the period ended
with the home quintet in pos
session of a slim lead.
More Like It
i
The second half was dominat
ed by a rejuvenated Carolina
five as the starting combination
of Branson, Harnden, Watson,
Glamack, and Ralph forged far
into a lead of 24-12 by the .middle
of the period.
The Blue and White offense
penetrated time and again, and
tallied with the sharp-shooting
of Glamack from under the
hoop.
The fighting Deaclets retaliat
ed intermittently with baskets
by Convery, Fetter, and Nelson,
bringing the score to 24-16.
But for the last ten minutes
of the tilt, the Little Ghosts held
the visitors scoreless- widened

Grubb
Foy Grubb was not a high
scorer, but he had a large part
to do in the Carolina win, as did
every one of the seven Carolina
players who got in. To Grubb
went the job of guarding Jim-
Waller, the Deacons' human
point-machine. And Grubb did a
great job, holding Waller to
only five points.
