I also suggest, sir, that you re-read the column under discussion. There was nothing stated in it to in dicate my . contention that "each na tion has the right to meddle in the internal affairs of any other nation," as you suggested. It was the writer's contention that an international body such as the U.N. should and must en joy that right. I must confess that I am a be liever in that "alien ideology" that there is no such thing as "single- state Fascism." Fascism is a disease. It is either stamped out, or it spreads. I refer you to the late F.D.R.'s fam ous "quarantine" speech for further, more eloquent details. Your point on "left-handed citizens" might be well-taken. Frankly, I really don't know. If you had read the col umn more carefully, Mjr. Abernethy, you would have noticed that that phrase was part of a quote from a member of the Allied Prosecution Staff at Nuremberg. I really don't know if he had "communists" or "left-wingers" in mind. I strongly doubt that he is in the pay of Moscow. Thank you for your kind attention and interest, sir, and I trust you will continue to read the column with equal interest. Sincerely yours, Manny Margolis Detroit Lions Sign Dorais To Contract DETROIT, Oct. 8 (UP Head Coach Gus Dorais of the Detroit Lions has signed with the National pro football club until January of 1952. Avoid Dardanelles Talk Britons Advise Turkey London, Oct. 9 (UP) Diplomatic sources here say that Britain, and presumably the United States, have advised Turkey not to enter into di rect negotiations with Russia on the future of the Dardanelles. A Foreign Office source reports that British and American diplomats in Ankara have been holding high-level consultations concerning the latest Soviet proposal for a joint Turkish-Russian defense of the strategic straits. The CCC type building will serve the Medical Department as a labora tory and office building. Officials stat ed that the acute shortage of class room and laboratory space in the Medical Building prompted the ad-1 ministration to secure the prefabri- j cated building as an expedient means of temporarily relieving the crowded conditions existing in the Medical De partment. Enough 5-foot sections of material have been secured to construct the building, and it is expected to be com pleted within the next few days. Pepper Against OPA: 'Public Fails Support' Washington, Oct. 9 (UP) Sena tor Claude Pepper of Florida says he may add his voice to the multitude demanding the repeal of OPA. The liberal Democrat feels that price con trol, like prohibition, is not receiving public support. Pepper voted against the present OPA legislation as being ineffective. Price ceilings today were lifted from food served in railroad diners and club cars. But controls will re main on sandwiches and soft drinks sold by news stands and train ped dlers.
