Back during the gay 80's Ma jor William Cain, head of the University math department, rented the second floor of the Pal ace and oftentimes . played his violin in the late hours of night Cain met his death accidentally in front of his home on the day of a football game in 1930. Since that time residents of the vil lage declare they have heard violin strains while passing the house at night. For the next few years after 1930 the Palace was used as a rooming house for truck drivers, as a bicycle repair shop on the side of the house and as a shoe fixery at the rear of the place' In 1937 the Summerlins moved in and converted the house into a real home. For several years they were bothered daily by room-seeking truck drivers and other persons in need of shoe and bicycle repair. The girls of Alpha Gamma Delta pitched in recently and did a goodly part of the overall renovation which has taken place at Crystal Palace during the past few weeks. Now greeting the passerby's eye is a brightly paint ed new-looking structure with an attractive picket fence bor dering the front. Girls moving into Crystal Pal ace include Priscilla Moore of Tryon; Jean Snyder of Hagers town, Md.; Sally Jackson of De mopolis, Ala.; Ruth McCann of Asheville; Alice Middleton of Sumter, S. Repperl disclosed tonight that 30 boys and girls used his own seclud ed log cabin for all-night par ties without his knowledge. He said that the mother of one girl in the group has filed statutory rape charges against two youths, 18 and 20. He said five youths have pleaded guilty to delinquency charges sentences. The cabin had been presum ed vacant since the death of a caretaker three weeks ago. Reppert visited it and discov ered the clues which led him to round up the youngsters. Three of the girls are being held at a juvenile home, he said, and six others have been released in the custody of their parents. Reppert said the five boys who were sentenced ranged in age from 15 to 20 years. Some Georgians Polite Georgia University students were quite often belligerent and studiously unfriendly toward the Carolina visitors. In contrast, However, others often introduced themselves and apologized for the actions of their campus brothers. As far as the subject of spirit was concerned, thee Tar Heels re soundingly downed the Georgians as badly as their fellow students did on the gridiron. Cheerleaders Work Hard The few hundred Carolinians outshone the thousands of Bull dog students in all respects, as their five boisterous cheerleaders worked them into a frenzy before, after and during the game. And tonight, as they pack up and prepare to leave for Chapel Hill, theey know that it will be some time before the University of Georgia will forget the time the Tar Heels came to Athens. m m 0 0 0i0 0T00C0J0.0Jk0:00S y.y.:.:.v.:.:.:. .v.v.'...v.'y.:.x::::. r- - r U CIGARETTE .$m i wiw.wrt -.-tj.".w AED Society to Meet In Graham Memorial There will be a meeting of AED Pre-medical society in the Horace Williams lounge of Graham Mem orial, at seven o'clock Monday evening, October 4.
