Besides these professional functions, so cial activities play an important part in the lives of the members. Last year, the chapter played a big part in the organizing of an Alpha Kappa Psi chapter at Wake Forest College. One of the current projects of he chapter is the organizing of an alumni chap ter, in this area. ' Prior to winter quarter, Bing ham Hall, Morehead Planetarium and Graham Memorial have serv ed as a meeting place for the chapter. ; Jackson now is convalescing at the Oak Knoll Naval Hospital, Oakland, Calif. . -Mrs. Snead- (Continued from page 1 ) now presents. . To make certain of the authen ticity of her work she has trav eled extensively, to Egypt, Pal estine, Italy,. France, Spain, Eng land, Germany, Morocco, and Al giers. She has .written and di rected episodes in pageants for the last and most magnificent of the Beaux Arts Balis and for the Metropolitan Museum. She ; has done work for the . World Gov ernment Association, directed a little theater group in California, and organized and directed the Greenwich Players in New York. In her pageants she has tried to appeal to the intelligence and love of beauty in her audience. To her the Orient is the source of all wisdom. She says that iri Pales tine Jerusalem is called the "pivot of the world," and that after you stay there a while you begin to believe it. If you're looking for a lesson, you might well find one in Mrs. Snead's life. Her purpose has been to give a cultural, authentic pic ture of how another part of the world lives, loves, sings and dances. She feels that only through understanding can we "in time find brotherhood instead of merely tolerance." The further ing of this understanding has been and is her contribution to the hope of peace.
