Tcer Low Bidder
On Paving. Job

DURHAM, March 26 The
Nello Teer Co. of Durham, has
submitted a low bid of $430,723
for paving that includes the new
Chapel Hill-Durham highway.
The contract calls for; the pav
ing of one lane of the Durham
Chapel Hill boulevard and a by
pass which will skirt the eastern
edge of Chapel Hill. The by-pass
is being built from the Raleigh
Road at Glen Lennox.
The contract calls for fine grad
ing and paving. Although the
project involves, but one lane, the
ground has been cleared for two
24-foot lanes. Paving of the sec
ond lane is expected later.

A native of Zionville, N. C, Dr.
Greer went into the teaching
profession after graduation,
teaching in the public school
from 908 to 1910 and at Appal
achian State eachers college from
1910 to 1932. From 1932 to 1348
he was general superintendant of
The Baptist Orphanage at
Thomas ville. He resigned, that
position to take the one he now
holds.- . " .
Dr. Greer's hobby is the in
terpretation of ballards and folk
songs. He is accompanied in his
interpretation by his wife who
plays the dulcimer.

terests," according to school of
ficials.
Albans had been' counted on to
win the NCAA track champion
ship for Occidental.
The star was criticized bv a
local sportswriter for "quitting"
in a recent high hurdles event in
a meet and refusing to run in the
low hurdles.
