Dr. Archibald Henderson, out
standing mathematician, histor
ian, and a member of the fac
ulty for over 50 years, has been
selected by the Di Senate and
the Phi Assembly as recipient
of the Di-Phi award.
The award is given annually
by the two societies for "out
standing service to campus,
state, and nation." Previous
winners of the award include
Dr. Frank Graham, John Mot
ley Morehead, and Dr. Albert
Dr. Henderson is noted for
his biographies of George Ber
nard Shaw and his work in Em
stein's theory of relativity. He
is a recognized authority on
North Carolina history and has
