Tonight, the group will meet in a general assembly of the UNC Alumni Association in the Carolina Inn ballroom at 6:30. The former Tar Heels will see the newest Carolina track team on a comeback trial. The Heels dif fered a sound 9041 licking Satur day to the Maryland Terps bring ing their record to 1-2. Before j Maryland, they had defeated South I Carolina but their opener was lost to Clemson. Carolina will be favored today. Virginia has lost to South Carolina, and Maryland this year. The Mary land defeat was ven more one sided than Carolina's loss. The Cavaliers are strongest in the pole vault department where they have three men who can clear over 13 feet, Pat Whitaker tops the list with Henry Daven Port and Clarence Roberts close behind. Whitaker is also an outstanding high hurdler. More Cavaliers to watch are Sonny Randle in the dashes, and Jack Cravins in the quarter mile, Carolina's middle distance star Dave Scuiiock will go for points in the 440 and 880 today ,and also the mile relay. Wayne Bishop, will double up on the mile and 2 mile along with Cowles Liipfert. The meet will get under way at 3:00 with the field everts. At 3:30 the track cvvM will start with the running at mile. The Duke yearling track squad j took 11 first places to defeat the the Carolina Tar Babies 86-45 In a meet here yesterday. The loss brought the Tar Babies record to 1-2. The only first for Carolina were Tom White in the 100, Benjy Seagle in the 440, Bobby Foxworth in the 880, and Bob Eu- banks in the broad jump. The meet came to a fine finish when Duke won the mile re-lay team by inches. The two teams stayed within five yards of each other the entire race.'
