Alarm, Just Elevator
It just takes some people a while j
6 catch on. j
Yesterday afternoon the elevator
alarm bell went off suddenly down !
n the .second level of the stacks
'n the library.
The elevator was operating just
ine, but somehow the bell got stuck, ;
. I and kept right on ringing. ;
Some students left, thinking a
ire nirrht have broken out, but
'hers studied bravely on.
A'ter about 10 minutes of cease
?ss ringing, an old man shuffled
mm somewhere deep in the stacks. :
"Is there a fire somewhere around i
here?," he asked a student sitting
t a table near the elevator doors, j
"No. it's just the elevator alarm
icll." the student replied. j
"Oh," the old man mumbled as
ie shuffled off.
It just takes some people a while j
