NAACP Reports On Terminal Segregation
MIAMI, Fla.-An NAACP sur
vey revealed that five out of six in
terstate bus terminals checked in
Southern (Florida this week still
maintain segregation for 'Negroes,
but without printed signs that usual
ly adverise ithe fact.
In addition to the Miami survey
conducted by Father Theodore ft.
Bibson," president, and G. E. Grav
es, counsel, of the local NAACP
chapter, studies are being conducted
in seven other cities.
Orlando, Jacksonville, Pensacola,
Tallahassee, Panama City, Tampa,
and Daytona are being surveyed to
determine the extent of discrimina
tion : against Negroes in interstate
travel accommodations.
Miami Almost Perfect
The Miami NAACP. investigation
covered only Greyhound terminals

Delray Beach: No waiting room
or food concession. Separate, segre
gated toilets on outside of building.
Jim Crow waiting room.
.'West Palm Beach: Integrated
waiting roois. No Jim Crow signs.
Gibson andJGraves attempted to eat

hostility." They were directed to an
outside counter.
Fort Pierce: New terminal, di
