A surprise ' : - -as for the prosecution at that time testi fied Rinaldi had sought to hire him to kill 33-year-old Lucille Rinaldi several weeks before her death at the couple's Chapel Hill apartment, The new evidence came from Alfred L. Foushee of Chapel Hill who told the court that Rinaldi had tried to hire him to kill Mrs. Rinaldi both while she was visiting in Chapel Hill and at her home in Waterbury, Conn, "He wanted me to go and kill his wife," Foushee testi fied. He said Rinaldi told him, "you can do anything you want . . . just so you kill her." Foushee fcaid he saw Rinaldi Christmas Eve and Rinaldi told him, "It's over, I did it." "I knew what he was talk ing about; but I did not be lieve him. I thought it was a big joke,' Foushee said. Foushee also testified that Rinaldi had made unnatural sexual advances toward him, but that he had resisted them. Chapel Hill Police Chief W. D. Blake said after the hearing that Foushee had told his for-" mer. employer about two months before Mrs. Rinaldi's death that Rinaldi had tried to hire him to kill her. Blake said the employer "sort of passed it off." The day after the Dec. 31 hearing, the former employer told police what Foushee had told him. Blake explained the delay in presenting the case to the grand jury by saying "there were other angles in the case we wanted to clear up. We wanted to be sure we had a good case against him. BAD NEWS.
