The ladies responded to the challenge saying they would meet Alexander on the battle field next Tueday, Oct. 5, at 4 p.m. The girls then decided on a little practice for the coming contest. 6 - Ready to go to it the untypical coeds asked for a football. It took the surprised males a few minutes to find one, but by this time the crowd was gathering,' and the boys were all too willing to be of any assistance. They wanted to play . . . One shapely halfback said, "We just want to mess around, see what its like and practice a little." Come on," yelled another, "let's warm up." "I played left tackle in high school, and I'm pre said one well-put-together brunette. The girls said they kept in shape by running up and down four flights of stairs every day in their dorm. After getting the football the girls got into formation. The line averaged about 112 pounds from end to end, and about 36-24-38 the rest of the way around. They ran through a few plays which made the boys decide to split the teams for next week's game. Boys and girls to gether is an old Carolina tradition you know.
