At first singles, Gene Hamil ton countered Jamie Fulois powerful attack with his steady, resourceful game con centrated on his opponent's backhand. Although Hamilton dropped the first set, Fillol weakened noticeably in the econd when Hamilton explod ed for five straight games and the set. In the third, Fihol pulled together his confidence and his play regained his earlier prowess v He seized a 4-0 lead and, on four service breaks, captured the set and the 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 match. At second singles, Bob Dav is played his finest match of the season as he dominated Tutvin 6-1. 6-3. Bronson Van Wyck won the opening set from Miami's vet eran Mickey Schad but could not maintain his momentum. Schad won by 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
