The change honors the late Thomas Henry Carroll who was the first dean of the UNC School of Business Administra tion. Ha was dean at UNC from 1950 to 1954 when he left to be come a vice president of the Ford Foundation where he di rected a program to improve business education at the col lege and university level. The fellowship named in hon or of Dr. Carroll enables the Harvard School to invite dis tinguished research professors to the School for varying per iods of a year or more to work on promising research projects.
