Topics for the forum, which runs through Friday, will be: "Black Power, Past and Pre sent" by Dr. J. H. Brewer, Instructor in Afro-American Studies, North Carolina College in Durham. "The Ghetto" by Caulbert Jones, instructor in Afro American Studies, North Carolina College. "Black Power and the Self image of the Negro" by Howard Fuller, lecturer in the School of Social Work here and director of community organization of the North Carolina Fund. Panels will be from 24 p.m., lectures from &-9 p.m. Discussions will follow. S v The Bronze Star Sledal with Combat ' "V" was presented posthumously on Tuesday to 2nd Lt. Richard S. Johnson, Jr., U.S. Marine Corps, who was killed in Vietnam on March 23, 1967. Lt. Johnson had been a Morehead Scholar and NROTC midshipman battalion com mander here. He was a 1966 graduate of the University. Receiving the medal for her husband was Mrs. Johnson, the former Penny Scovil o f Raleigh. Mrs. Johnson now makes her home in Chapel Hill. The citation, which was read at noon on Fetzer Field, prais ed Lt. Johnson for his "professional ability and fearless composure under fire." It was signed by Charles F. Baird, acting Secretary of the Navy. . Col. Richard S. Johnson, father of the deceased, now stationed at Camp LeJeune, made the presentation of awards to the widow. Besides the Bronze Star, Lt. Johnson also received the Purple Heart, the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service "Medal. Leadership Program Is Organized By SG Student government is in viting representatives from student organizations to participate in planning a pro gram of leadership training ac cording to presidential assis tant Dave Kiel. "The training program would employ techniques of applied behavioral sciences to let people explore the leadership process and develop skills in various situations call ing for leadership," said KieL Kiel hopes the program will lead to more effective student organizations, easier com munication between student groups and less wasted energy. The program grew from faculty offers to participate in a program of leadership training. The program is organized by Student Government Working with the program are Howard Henry, of the GM Board of Directors and Dr. Douglas Sessoms of the Sociology department. An organizational meeting is planned for Monday from 4-6 p.in.
