The Tar Heels placed 1-2 on the 5V4 mile run, but the Tigers still managed to take three of the top six positions. Once again it was Kenny Helms who led Carolina distance runners. Sports Editor The North Carolina Tar Babies will be without the services of quarterback Charlie Turco this afternoon when they travel to Wake Forest for a 3:00 p.m. encounter. Turco suffered a knee injury in Carolina's 25-10 victory over Virginia on Friday and will be back in action next week. Taking Turco's place in the starting lineup will be Paul Miller who has shared the quarterbacking duties with Turco throughout the first two Tar Baby games. Miller, a left-handed thrower, has passed for 81 yards this season, completing five of eight passes. He has run for 81 more and is averaging 3.7 yards per carry.
