(UPI) -Junior tailback Charlie Bowers powered North Carolina State's ground attack Saturday and scored three touchdowns in the Wolfpack's 31-11 triumph over Maryland. Bowers, who became a starter when senior Leon Mason was injured in preseason practice, ground out 113 yards rushing on 28 carries. He scored three touchdowns against South Carolina two weeks ago. He scored against Maryland on runs of 10 and three yards in the second quarter and on a one-yard plunge in the third.
