Two pianos collido, 68 cGo
Two Spanisn airliners collided Monday in a layer of clouds high over western France.
One of them crashed in a ball of flames, killing all 68 persons aboard, and the other,
carrying 108 persons, landed safely more than 100 miles away.
In Madrid, a spokesman for the Spantax said the charter company's Covair was
flying at 29,000 feet in a layer of clouds when it was hit by the Iberian DC9 in the tip
of one wing. The pilot did an outstanding job bringing the damaged plane down
safely," the spokeman said.
Sudan to oxccuto guerillas
Sudanese officials assured the U.S. Monday that the Palestinian guerillas who killed
two American diplomats would be executed, U.S. sources said.
The assurance was given at Khartoum airport, where diplomats had gathered as the
bodies of the two Americans, US. Ambassador Cleo A. Noel, 54, and Deputy Chief of
Mission George Curtis Moore, 47, were placed aboard a plane for the United States.

CGC to meet
The Appointments Committee of the
Campus Governing Council (CGC) has
passed a resolution deploring the action of
the Faculty Council on limiting pass-fail
hours for consideration at tonight's CGC
meeting.
The resolution states that the CGC
urge "the faculty (to) reconsider and
repeal their action." It further complains
that "this action was taken with no
advance publicity or other notice to the
student body" and that "this action
severely limits the discretion available to
students in determining the course of
their own education."
The committee is co-chaired by Ernie
Patterson and Robert Hackney.
According to Patterson, the committee's
