planned Middle East trip by 10 days.
Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger
arranged to take off Thursday amid reports
of an imminent Egyptian attack on Israeli
forces on the west bank of the Sue Canal. I n
Washington the State Department denied
knowledge of any planned attack. J
He was to leave at midnight EDT.
Kissinger said Thursday he exccts to
obtain concrete proposals during his visits to
Egypt and Israel that will lead to separation
of their forces along the Sue Canal.
"What we expect to do." Kissinger tokl a
news conference. is see whether we can
transform general ideas into a concrete
proposal. We hope that after such concrete
proposals have been developed, it will lead to
serious Israeli-Egyptian negotiations at
Geneva for the separation of forces."
On the subject of the energy crisis.
Kissinger Thursday warned the nations of

energy crisis could not be solved by a single
nation or a single group of nations.
