K. Barton Osborn, an ex-CIA agent, will speak
at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, in the Great Hall.
He will speak on the CIA's role in covert
operations in foreign countries and show the film
"The Rise and Fall of the CIA." Admission is free.

Last names beginning M through R Friday, January 14th
Office is closed Saturday and Sunday, January 15th and 16th.
Last names beginning S through Z Monday, January 17th
(Those students who do not meet this schedule must get their checks
on Tuesday, January 18th.)
All funds will be distributed by check on these days, including all UNC
CH scholarships and loans, all College Foundation loans, all Basic
Grants, all N.C. Incentive Q rants, etc. National Merit and National
Achievement checks have arrived and will be disbursed by above .

filed both criminal and civil suits in Sao
Paulo, Brazil, Wednesday charging that
25-year-old Brazilian millionaire
playboy Francisco "Chiquinho" Scarpa
had defamed the 19-year-old Princess in
an interview on Brazilian television.
A Palace spokesperson Thursday
branded the Brazilian playboy's claims
of a love affair with Princess Caroline
and his intimations that she is no longer
a virgin "an outrage."
