Morris Udall, D-Ariz., will speak at 8 p.m. today in'Memorial Hall as part of the 1977 Colloquium on International Affairs. He will.discuss "Effects of Domestic Structure on Foreign Policy' Udall, a former professional basketball player, practiced law in Arizona from 1949-61 before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. After serving 16 years in Congress, Udall made an unsuccessful bid for the Democratic presidential nomination last year. In Congress,Udall has served on the Interior and Insular Affairs Committee and has also been chairperson of the Energy and Environment subcommittee. The colloquium sponsoring Udall's speech examines America's role in current affairs and how the nation must respond to major challenges of the future, according to colloquium coordinators Nick Herman and Bert Van der Vaart. Colloquium topics include U.S.-Soviet relations and detente, oil politics, nuclear control and SALT, NATO, international law and the Carter administration's foreign policy.
