Let's face it, when you buy an audio system designed by one of the leading manufacturers (Kenwood, Pioneer, Technics, KLH, Sansui, Marantz, BIC, Jensen, Teac, etc.), each component delivers the same superb sound whether you buy it from Dixie or another audio store. But the thing to keep in mind, is that we will never put our price on an item until we're certain that no other store is selling that same item for less. We'll even give you that in writing -"if you buy something from Dixie, and in the next 30 days find it advertised for less - anywhere in America - send us the ad and we'll send you the difference!" We've kept a few cost-cutting secrets the 17 years we've been in the audio business. One secret will become obvious on your first visit - our stores look more like warehouses than audio salons. This no frills approach keeps our overhead low and lets us cut our prices on every item. Quite a few of our secrets aren't so obvious. None of our salesmen are paid a commission. This means that they won't try to pressure you to buy when all you want to do is look. And we try to locate all our stores (we've got 27 now) ajittle off the beaten path - the rents With so many stores around the country our buyers have the power to make some really incredible deals. These guys wind up reducing our costs tremen dously - and again, this saves you money! Another thing that size does for us (and this is one of our best kept secrets) is encourage our manufacturers to keep us well supplied with the latest developments in sound. We've made it our business to cut costs so that we can make certain that your investment in audio equipment is a sound one. We guarantee it! B. sorority house looks like. "The law- schools in the late 1960s experienced an increase in applications, and with that there was a significant increase in the amount of clerical work for the law school admissions offices," Hendon said. Ineq uities slowif dis in women's athletics By LESLIE SC1SM Staff Writer Female athletes received only three grants-in-aid for the 1975-76 academic year, but the women's program ii successfully expanding, according to a report presented to the Faculty Council Friday by the Committee on Athletics. Male athletes for the same year received 257 grants-in-aid, but UNC women's basketball Coach Angela Lumpkin said she still is optimistic. "You can't just start and give women an equal number of scholarships," Lumpkin said. Three years ago no grants-in-aid were awarded to women. In the 1974-75 school year, only one grant-in-aid was received by a female; this year 16 women are on scholarship, and next year as many as 30 or 40 will be on grants-in-aid, according to the report. "We've come so far in two years," Lumpkin said. "We're so much better off than other universities."
