Voight, a third round draft choice of the Bengals, compiled three straight 1,000 yard seasons and finished his college career with 3,971 yards rushing. With Voight leading the way this year UNC logged a 9-2 record and bid to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta. In preparation for the Peach Bowl Voight was injured and did not see action in the Peach Bowl, ending his career at UNC on a sour note. Also signing this week were All-ACC defensive end Bill Perdue and defensive back Russ Conley both free agents. Perdue signed with the Atlanta Falcons hoping to make the team at linebacker while Conley signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers hoping to break into Pittsburgh's tough defensive secondary.
